Veneer

Veneer cutting is a most economic way of using the wood mass of logs. For instance, one cubic meter of logs yields roughly 600 – 900 aq. meters of veneer. If cut into veneer, a certain amount of lumber enables covering more extensive surface area than it would if cut into boards of 26 millimeter thickness.  Hence, exotic veneers provide excellent covering for wood panels. Moreover, various veneer cutting and joining techniques enable to highlight the most diverse wood grain pattern formations. To gain the high quality and desired effect for veneer, the manufacturers of supplies we deal in have their quality assessors present in the wood harvesting areas, helping to procure the material according to strict quality regulations and standards. Veneer is produced, using either rotation cutting or slice cutting technologies. In rotation cutting for obtaining veneer, the static cutting blade touches the rotating log tangentially, thus cutting off a ply with desired thickness.

Feel free to visit our warehouse store where you can have a look at veneers of fifty wood species at different grades, dimensions, and prices, of course.

These days the veneers of all wood species have their standard thicknesses 0.55 -0.6, 1.5 and 2.7 millimeters. The technology of furniture manufacturing today accepts plies of veneer, considerably thinner compared to the thicknesses acceptable yet some decades ago. The use of thinner veneer plies, definitely, helps to save and sustain wood.

Also veneers of customized thicknesses e.g. 0.3 – 5.0 mm are available. With regard to the lengths, those for doors (2.1 – 2.4 meters) and panels (2.7 – 3.0 meters) are common, alongside with mixed lengths that are used for furniture. Different grain pattern formations can be given to veneers, using different types of slicing and rift cut.

Besides common species, e.g. Beech, Oak, Ash and Birch, you can find in our warehouse store also veneers of such exotic species as Pyramid Mahogany, Rose tree and, implicitly, of several less exotic species. You may also know that the variety of species and grades in various quantities you can see in our warehouse, protects both, our customers and ourselves against any potential delivery holdups.
